Liner notes by Flora Purim (who also produced this album):
"It's not very difficult to write about someone you've known for so many years, but it is not that easy to put into words Hermeto's creativity.
Hermeto has been one of the biggest sources of inspiration for Miles Davis, Airto Moreira, Cannonball Adderley, Duke Pearson, Herbie Hancock, Gil Evans and especially myself. On this album, he is playing flutes, percussion, keyboards, acoustic guitar, soprano sax, as well as arranging.
To play well all the instruments listed above, is not what makes Hermeto so unique and different from the others. It is his courage to experiment with all and any kind of music on a very advanced level.
So I don't want to say anything else to prepare you for the music, I just want to say thank you, Hermeto Pascoal, for opening my mind to new concepts and for making your music so available to those who are eager to learn and share."
